Duca Bortini di Montebello

The history of Duca Bortini di Montebello, a family of aristocrat descent, dates back to 799. According to records, the ancestors of the Montebello family served under Carl the Great (or Charlemagne) in Rome. Even then they had been also engaged in the grape cultivation. Later on, their grapes became the royal warrant of the Italian King. The famous composer, Verdi, was also an important customer of theirs at the time. Today, Duca Bortini wines are sold all over the world in such countries such as in Germany, Japan, and in the United States. Their classic Italian style wines are made of grapes from northern Italy mainly from the Veneto, Trentino and Piemonte regions.
