Maison Louis Max was founded in 1859, in Nuits Saint Georges, in the heart of Burgundy. Louis Max is the proud owner of over 230 hectares of vineyards in Burgundy and South of France cultivated in Organic farming.
Tasting Note Savigny 1er cru les vergelesses is planted on slopes facing South East, which allows the grapes to mature to its best before the harvets. 2004 was the perfect illustration of the old Burgundy proverb "September makes the wine"! After a magnificient spring, Burgundy was under pressure with a very unstable and cool summer with hail and storms, fortunately, we were lucky to see September coming with its beautiful ray of sunshine helping the grapes to mature beautifully at the end. The age is highliting the finesse of the wine. it is very well balnaced with smooth tannin.
