Meerendal

Meerendal Wine Estate has a deep history that started in 1714 when 60,000 vines were planted on the farm . Meerendal is owned by the Coertze family who’s continued work has aspired to develop Meerendal into one of South Africa’s flagship Wine Estates. The Estate (W.O. Cape Town) it situated 30 minutes from Cape Town in the Durbanville Wine Valley. Meerendal boasts a variety of noble red and white cultivars, but is best known for Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage and Shiraz. Other varieties include Pinot noir, Merlot and Cabernet
Sauvignon The Estate covers 228 hectares of land with 50 hectares planted under vine Meerendal. Meerendal has no irrigation on its vines and follows dryland farming practices. With the help of EMI and NDVI satellite technology, it is possible for the Meerendal viticulturist and winemaker to select the best grapes from the vineyard. Recent Platter Awards (2021) includes 93 points for the Sauvignon Blanc 2020.
