In 1995, the pioneer of Napa Valley, Robert Mondavi (also co-owner of Opus One), and the President of Viña Errázuriz, Eduardo Chadwick, embarked upon the Chilean wine industry’s first international joint venture to create a unique wine named Seña, as a sign to the world that Chile was able to produce a world-class wine. The fantastic terroir located in the Aconcagua Valley and the workmanship provided by talented technical teams have created a real icon, largely acclaimed by journalists.

Seña is a unique Chilean Bordeaux blend, based on Cabernet Sauvignon that provides the structure, while the Carmenere contributes its Chilean identity. Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot complete the composition. The beautiful Seña hillside vineyard is located on the western side of the Aconcagua Valley, 40km from the Pacific Ocean and 100km north from Santiago. It comprises 42 hectares and its design enhances the conservation of the native ecosystems in accordance with the biodynamic principles under which it is farmed, since 2005.

Over the past years,Seña has shown consistently high quality in blind tastings around the globe being tasted alongside the best wines of the world (Sassicaia, Solaia, Latour, Lafite…).The response has been extremely favorable, as Seña has always been placed at the top of the preferences by expert palates on recent vintages but also on mature vintages. These tasting revealed not only the quality level of Seña but also its ageability and its evolution over time, adding a new dimension to the success of Chilean wines.
