Viticultors Mas d’en Gil has a 125hectare estate in the municipal district of Bellmunt del Priorat within the historical Priorat region. Situated at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level, with its terraces flanked by Montsant and Serra de Llaberia, it receives the warm, humid air wafted in on the southeasterly breezes.
This singular microclimate, with its broad temperature range, and the special character of the “llicorella” soil (slate), give the palate, colour and aroma of its wines a unique richness and complexity. The vineladen terraces alternate with plantations of olive and almond trees and eventually give way to forest in the purest Mediterranean style.
The 20day harvest, usually beginning early in September, is the result of exhaustive control of the Macabeo, Garnacha, Cariñena, Cabernet and Syrah vines.
